Roller coaster crashes to the ground, hospitalizing 3 children.
MOTHERWELL, Scotland — Three children are in serious condition in a Glasgow hospital following a horrific crash Sunday at a Scotland theme park.
Eyewitnesses said the Tsunami ride at M&D’s amusement park in Motherwell, near Glasgow, had been full when it derailed injuring eight children and two adults.
Three youngsters are in serious condition at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and another is in stable condition.
An adult is being treated at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary and is in stable condition.
The other five casualties were being treated in hospitals in Lanarkshire,
One adult and one child are stable, while three other children were due to be released Sunday evening.
Police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene as several visitors posted images on social media appearing to show a mangled carriage on a pathway surrounded by dozens of people.
In one image, people can be seen trapped upside down in their seats on the carriage, with their legs protruding into the air.
Katie Burns said she had just finished riding the Tsunami roller coaster and was walking past when the carriage crashed with children on board.
