Men in Iran are wearing Hijabs in Protest.
Iranian men are protesting a compulsory law which forces women to wear hijabs. They express their solidarity by donning headscarfs themselves and posting images of their actions on social media with #MenInHijab hashtag.
Iran wasn’t always like that. Everything started back in 1983 when the country passed conservative laws to prevent men from sexually advancing towards women. One way of ensuring this was making sure women wore modest clothing in public as well as a hijab. In case of disobedience, detention and even lashes were introduced as punishments. Nonetheless, eventually women began rebelling.
